RASHOMON at Studio on the Square

Indie Memphis and the Brooks Museum of Art continue their year-round collaboration with this special 4-week program of Essential Art House Cinema.

Closing the series this Thursday...

RASHOMON ** New, restored 35mm film print.
Thursday, Nov. 12 @ 7:30 pm
at the Studio on the Square

Brimming with action while incisively examining the nature of truth, RASHOMON is perhaps the finest film ever to investigate the philosophy of justice. Through an ingenious use of camera and flashbacks, Kurosawa reveals the complexities of human nature as four people recount different versions of the story of a man’s murder and the rape of his wife. Toshiro Mifune gives another commanding performance in the eloquent masterwork that revolutionized film language and introduced Japanese cinema to the world.

Admission:
$5 for Indie Memphis members and members of The Brooks / $7 for non-members
/ Free with Indie Memphis '09 Silver or Gold Pass or Brooks VIP Film Pass

Horses

Dear Quality Road,

Thanks for being a late scratch and ruining my day. Thanks to the Georgia for hitting the 4-7 exacta. She thought the other horse name was Pinot Noir instead of Gio Ponti. It paid for the $12 glasses of wine.

Thanks,

The exhibition will run for one night only on Friday, November 6th, 2009 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
